Has concentrated her practice in Administrative Law, focusing on Contracting, Public-private Partnerships and Energy. As in-house Legal Director, Margarida developed skills in the area of ​​corporate law and financing.

Margarida completed her Law degree at the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University in 1987. She is a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 1989.

She is fluent in English and Spanish.

Professional Experience

Margarida was Legal Advisor of the Secretary of State of Energy until October 2019 and was responsible for the legislation that established collective self-consumption and renewable energy communities.

In the XXI Constitutional Government, Margarida was Legal Advisor to the Minister of Planning and Infrastructure and participated in the revision of the Public Procurement Code and PPPs renegotiation.

She was Legal Director of the Somague Group - Somague Concessões and Somague Engenharia (2005/2015).

She was a Senior Associate at the law firm Cuatrecasas, Gonçalves Pereira, Castelo Branco and Associados (2002/2005).

Was a Legal Department Director of GRUPO EDIFER (1999/2002).

Was in-house Advisor at Odebrecht - Bento Pedroso Construções, SA (1991/1999).

Was a lawyer at the Law Firm Dr. Queirós de Barros and Dr. Lemos de Mendonça (1987/1991).

She is a member of APDEN - Portuguese Association of Energy Law.
