New Legislation for Healthcare Providers

Decree-Law no. 127/2014, of 22 August, in its current wording, established the legal regime governing the opening, modification and operation of healthcare establishments, whatever their corporate name, legal nature or owner-operator.

Article 2(1) of the aforementioned law establishes that the opening and operation of a healthcare establishment depends on verification of the technical and operational requirements applicable to each type of establishment, defined by an order issued by the member of the Government responsible for the health area.
