New framework applicable to the remuneration related to healthcare activity within the health system

Ordinance no. 281/2026/1 of 29 June has been published, establishing the operational framework governing the National System for Access to Medical Consultations and Surgery (“Sistema Nacional de Acesso a Consulta e Cirurgia – SINACC”), in particular with respect to additional healthcare activity performed by the healthcare units within the Portuguese National Health Service ("SNS"), and outsourced surgical procedures, to health units from the private and the third sector.
