Code of Practice: Transparency of AI-generated content
On June 10, 2026, the European Commission published the Code of Practice on Transparency of AI-Generated Content (the “Code”), a voluntary instrument intended to support providers and deployers of generative AI systems in complying with the obligations laid down in Article 50(2), (4) and (5) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the “AI Act”).
The Code sets out measures for the marking, detection and labeling of content generated or manipulated by AI. Adherence may facilitate the demonstration of compliance, without automatically constituting proof thereof.
