European Commission Guidelines on the transparency obligations under the AI Act
On 20 July 2026, the European Commission published Guidelines on the implementation of the transparency obligations laid down in Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the "AI Act"), applicable to certain artificial intelligence ("AI") systems.
These non-binding Guidelines aim to assist competent authorities, providers and deployers of AI systems in ensuring a uniform, consistent, effective and proportionate application of these obligations, which take effect as from 2 August 2026 or 2 December 2026, if and when applicable.
