Geographical Indications for Craft and Industrial Products
On 25 September 2026, Decree-Law No. 194/2026 was published, implementing in Portugal Regulation (EU) 2023/2411 on the protection of geographical indications (GIs) for craft and industrial products.
The Decree-Law extends GI protection, hitherto limited to wines, spirit drinks and agricultural products and foodstuffs, to products such as jewellery, embroidery, ceramics and glass.
